I’d say the color change had the most impact, isn’t fresh paint the best thing ever?! It’s so cheap, but can really transform any room in such a huge way. Bang for buck, people!
The before color was reminiscent of blue-green toothpaste and the trim was off-white. It made the space feel darker, especially in the evening. We went with crisp bright white for freshness. The white has very neutral undertones, so it definitely lit the place up without making it look too sterile. Although, I am admittedly a clean freak! No shoes in the house, mmmkay?! The black door popping against the white walls is everything!
I’m not gonna lie, tackling this project was a beast! Not only did the walls need paint, but also the ceilings. They are 10ft tall and I’m terrified of heights! At 5’2, I couldn’t reach much from the scaffolding anyways. Luckily Robby was able to reach with ease, he’s 6’3! I handled the lower areas while he tackled the rest.
After we finished painting, we hung the decor back up and added even more plants. We love how the green foliage contrasts against the white walls! Updating the dining pendant and ceiling fan finished things up and made the whole area look really slick! Later down the road we’d like to add wallpaper or some type of stenciling to a wall for an extra kick.
It was a true labor of love and we’re obsessed with the results! This might be our favorite room in the house now, well except for our room, because sleep, duh! Thanks for checking it out! Praying positivity and peace come your way!
